Sky Lite Custom Lamp Stand, Closer
thingiverse
**CRITICAL NOTE** The NeoPixel Jewel I put in my Sky Lite is _NOT_ a drop in replacement for the existing LED. I am _not_ using the Sky Lite pcb whatsoever, but instead driving all of the hardware with my own microcontroller and board with and customized version of WLED. I will likely write this project up elsewhere **ALSO OF NOTE** I printed my test piece in PLA but the lamp does get pretty warm if you are running at full brightness. **I suggest printing this in PETG or ABS.** I received a (Blisslights Sky Lite)[https://www.amazon.com/BlissLights-Sky-Lite-Projector-Ambiance/dp/B07L8R5PK6] for Christmas. While the blue light was nice and the visual effect was great, I've recently been experimenting with NeoPixel (RGB, individually addressable LEDs) projects and I wanted to be able to use one or more Neopixels to output the color instead of just a single blue LED. I ended up going with the (Adafruit NeoPixel Jewel RGBW)[https://www.adafruit.com/product/2860]. I completely replaced the existing LED and the board it is placed on with this stand which has mounting holes for the Jewel. When I originally designed this mount, I placed the Jewel at about the same distance as the original LED. I've since discovered this is a mistake - the focal point of the lens is over 20mm closer to the lens. This revision moves the LEDs much closer to the lens. Print in provided orientation WITH supports.
