Here is a detail from a piece of furniture that's part of my S.T.E.A.M game project. To learn more about it, check out www.UniCronStudios.com. In the meantime, take this two-color print to any Lolita in your life - or get one printed for yourself if you happen to be a tech-savvy and crafty 3D printing enthusiast with dual printers at home. If you want something quicker, try just printing her head; I've got that printing out under 35 minutes on my current settings. This design is ideal for demoing. **Print Settings:** * Rafts are essential for stable prints. * Supports can make a big difference too - they help ensure the entire structure comes together smoothly. * To achieve fine details, use a low resolution like 0.14mm. * An infill rate of 2 gives a great balance between structural integrity and weight. **Some notes:** Right now I'm using ABS plastic in black and white at 0.14mm resolution with a moderate infill percentage - that way the print doesn't take too long to complete while still holding up well after handling. To start working on this furniture piece, I went straight into Autodesk 3ds Max. Years ago she first started as a character named Battle Angel Alita. A few months later, last year, I re-created her in Zbrush using a ball jointed doll template, and the most recent project - that still needs a lot more development - is an app where kids get to build their own androids.
