Skull Geocaching Container
thingiverse
This is a remix from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3928314 My publication can be found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3953771 and https://github.com/OnkelHardy/skull-geocaching-container. I've always wanted to design a geocache container from a skull, but when I saw TobyCWood's design on Thingiverse, I knew immediately: "That's who it should be". Many thanks for that! To fit the skull on the print bed of my 3D printer, I had to shrink the original STL a bit. The skull now has the dimensions 115mm x 171mm x 130mm on the print bed, so it's not quite small, resulting in a printing time of 12 hours. I printed the stone without infill. Next to the plug is a hole, which can be drilled with 4mm. With the enclosed funnel you can fill the inside of the stone with crystal quartz sand (01.-0.3mm), as it is used in aquaristics. Then close the hole with glue. This considerably increases the weight of the stone and thus its stability. In addition, the stone is then not so easily carried away by animals and humans. One can leave the filling hole naturally also closed, and print the stone completely normally with e.g. 20% Infill. In the area of the face bones are some overhangs to the inside, here an infill must be printed in any case (e.g. 15%). I use the PrusaSlicer, there it is done with "modifier", which actually works very fast and simple. The attached pictures show what this looks like for me. Below and above I also printed infills with a height of 10mm (40%). The cheekbones form overhangs to the outside, here appropriate support amplifiers must be provided. How I did this is also shown on a picture. I printed with 0% filling density (see text) 0,2mm layer height 4 vertical contours 4 horizontal contours 80mm/s print speed. Support see text No support is required for the stopper and funnel. Of course I am happy to make the SCAD file available for your own changes. The SCAD file uses the Thread_Library from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:8793 With a successful print I would be very happy about a Like! Greetings Hardy
