Skull Bank
thingiverse
This friend-requested Christmas gift involved creating a cool bank on my MakerBot using Sublime's Skull Bowl model and adding a screw plug for coin retrieval, inspired by Sywvlch's screw library. OpenSCAD was used to intersect the skull with the screw, resulting in a unique design. The slot for inserting coins is located on the top piece at the back of the skull. The zip file contains necessary files for modification; however, the resized Skull has different dimensions than the original. Four copies of the lid are included due to printing issues that couldn't be resolved. Standard US coins fit well, while Euro coin slot dimensions can be adjusted using values provided in the OpenSCAD file. Assembly requires screwing in the plug and gluing the base and lid together without alignment holes. Acetone was used on the inside bottom of the base to secure the threads.
