Skoda Felicia headlight adjuster electronic motor adapter
thingiverse
This model is my very first self-made 3D design, created entirely on my own using openSCAD. The Skoda Felicia came standard with hydraulic headlight adjusters from the factory, which are notoriously prone to failing. As a result of the May 2018 MOT changes in the UK, which require operational headlight adjusters accessible from inside the cabin, my car failed its MOT and was taken off the road. Since parts for the Felicia have become difficult to obtain in the UK, I decided to replace my faulty hydraulic units with electric motors similar to those used in modern cars. This model is the outcome of my efforts. It's an adapter that fits seamlessly into the Skoda Felicia headlight adjuster hole in the headlight housing, and a Skoda Fabia mark 1 headlight adjuster motor can securely engage with it and lock into place. A precision-crafted M4 bolt was inserted into the end of the headlight adjuster motor. With patience and a good tapper set, as well as a screwdriver, it's possible to do this free hand. Clearly, you'll still need to connect the electronic motor and obtain a variable resistor to make everything work properly. I ended up using a switch from a Seat Leon. It's not perfect, but it works for now since I'm not an expert in this area! I've included the openSCAD files for anyone interested in making a better version.
