Skitarii Galvanic Rifle
thingiverse
This started life as a budget-friendly Denix reproduction of the British WW1 SMLE bolt action rifle, but the metal parts are cheap pot metal and I managed to snap the tail of the bolt through just moderate normal use. So I turned it into a prop sci-fi gun instead with Fusion 360! I 3D printed the barrel fins, sights, bayonet, and designed the whole new magazine there. Inside it is a powerful 2000mAh LiPo battery running a series of small LED panels meant to be backlights for tiny LCD displays. These panels should run off the battery for about 22 hours straight, plenty of time to get through a day of shooting or a convention. To complete this project, electronics and all, you will need: * A Denix SMLE MK3 Rifle (or similar Airsoft and/or real rifle - please be cautious and observe all necessary safety precautions when handling firearms or firearm-like devices) * Five Adafruit Medium White LED Backlight Panels * A 2000mAh LiPo Battery * Five 100Ω Resistors * Some Transparency Film to Gel the LED light to your color of choice * Spray paints for a brass/gunmetal look * A retro rifle sling * Some gauze and eye shadow I recommend printing in PETG or ABS for durability and heat resistance. Some parts of my rifle, such as the rear sight and barrel fins, were printed in SLA on an EPAX X1, but be careful as resin can be brittle. I did accidentally break my first rear sight.
