The Skirmisher Rifle's more modern cousin made from factory quality parts, the V2 has mostly the same systems and identical performance as it's original counterpart but were much rarer than it's wasteland version. The weapon's longer barrel, and streamlined design was made with longer ranges in mind and had little to no recoil. Despite being a superior weapon, many inhabitants of The Cryptex wastes ignored these weapons when scavenging for materials and survival supplies, Only taking them if they had no other weapons with them or to cannibalize them into other Skirmishers. One glaring issue that the V2 had was the incompatibility with most available ammo, only taking specialized rounds made for the weapon unless extensively modified to take other types of ammo. A scarce few have owned and used these rifles regularly, fewer still are still alive to boast about it...Rumors have it that the V2's origins came from a marketing scheme by a rogue company to make quick money by advertising it as the 'gun of the future' in order to get rich quick, selling them at absurdly high prices for something that could be cobbled together in a few minutes and still work better.
