Skippy's PoleMaster-Star Adventurer Adapter
cults3d
Here's my version of a PoleMaster adapter for the Star Adventurer mount, designed to hold the polar illuminator for a quick rough polar alignment. After using it, you can easily swap it out with the PoleMaster and generic adapter on the back. I incorporated metal threads into this design to ensure that the thumb screw doesn't strip or slip. There are two different versions available: one uses a simple nut-and-hole method, while the other utilizes a more professional 5mm metal thread insert that's melted directly into the model. This model may initially fit snugly into the L bracket, requiring some filing or sanding to get it just right. I designed it to be a solid fit, but if you do encounter issues with the first fitting, try loosening the L bracket and wiggling it out carefully to avoid damaging the model. To complete this adapter, you'll need an M3 screw and nut (or 5mm M3 thread insert) to make the thumbscrew. Detailed instructions for assembling the Thumbscrew End can be found on my Any Screw Thumbscrew page at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2551007. Remember to use this model responsibly, as I'm not liable for any damage that may occur while using it. Please respect the CC Licence and don't build or sell these models for personal gain – greed is indeed humanity's greatest weakness.
