Skip-E
thingiverse
Meet Skip-E! This innovative robot is an idea for a freshly designed Chip-E. Instead of being a biped, Skip-E uses two agile feet to "skip" and two sleek wheels for propulsion. These two wheels are uniquely positioned at 180 degrees in sync with the rotation of the 180-degree servos, but its remarkable ability to skip seamlessly overcomes this apparent obstacle. By effortlessly lifting its body off the ground on its sturdy feet, Skip-E can freely rotate its wheels, allowing them to be reset into any desired position. To move forward, Skip-E lifts up, expertly repositions its wheels, and then lowers and rolls forward, repeating this precise process with ease. We aimed to create a new approach to an entertaining robot that can be programmed to exhibit numerous features. By having two feet and two half-wheels, Skip-E becomes incredibly versatile and opens the door to a wide range of tricks, dances, and geeky robot fun.
