I needed a box to protect a YoLink temperature sensor for my pool, and I decided to hang it from the underside of the skimmer cover (with a cutout to allow the sensor wire hanging down into the skimmer). This keeps it out of sunlight and protects it from getting doused with splashes. You can also stick a small piece of foam in the sensor wire cutout to make it fully waterproof. The box is 80x80mm with an interior of 70x70mm and the nut which goes through the skimmer lid hole is 20mm in diameter. Skimmer_Mount.stl - all four objects fit together. Skimmer_Mount_Screw.stl - screw that sits atop the skimmer lid, with a large bevelled head so you can easily grab it to lift the lid.
