A redesigned connection is necessary to ensure a robust and easy-to-use link between the lid and skimmer. The previous version featured a "snap-fit" mechanism, which was susceptible to breaking either during initial assembly or when accidentally dislodged from the basket while emptying it, requiring a subsequent refit. A new connection system has been implemented, utilizing a twist-and-lock design that provides a much stronger bond between the lid and basket. By twisting the lid onto the top of the basket until resistance is met, the lid is securely fastened in place. Although this connection does not physically lock into position, it ensures the lid remains firmly attached and will not easily come loose or be removed without deliberate effort.
