Ski wax scraper sharpener
thingiverse
You must scrape away most of the wax applied to your ski soles when you wax them. This usually involves using an acrylic scraper that loses its sharpness over time and becomes much less effective. This handy tool makes sharpening these scrapers easy and affordable: - a wood grater (5 to 10 dollars) - this part to hold and guide the grater (less than 1 dollar). All angles have been rounded for comfort. ### Instructions - buy a wood grater, preferably an aggressive one for better results - measure its width and thickness in millimeters - enter those measurements into scraper_holder.scad on lines "file_x =" and "file_z =". The current values work with MacAlister scrapers (Castorama shop). - measure your scraper (thickness and width in millimeters) and put those numbers into "scraper_t =" and "scraper_w =". Current values fit standard 3mm Vola scrapers. - once you've got the dimensions right, change the constant "ready_to_print" to 1 so it prints correctly, then generate STL and Gcode files - print, wax, and ski! ### Miscellaneous - 25% infill is sufficient - 16.5 meters of filament will do - if the part is well adjusted, you may need a hammer to put the grater in place. This isn't a big deal; it will loosen up at use.
