skewb rotating corner alternatives
thingiverse
These are alternative components to complement the original Skewb design. A replacement fixed corner is available with a total surface and CAP piece that takes the place of the original fixed corner and (prism-shaped) cap. Print this component four times. I have removed a new core design, where bolts extend from the inside outwards, secured by nuts on the outside. This has been superseded by another remix. To recreate this setup in a "twisty puzzle n-sided spider core," use: * Counterscrews: 1 * Lc (length of counterscrew): 11 mm * Outer Diameter: 21 mm * Inner Diameter: 20 mm * Dcs (diameter of counterscrew head): 6 mm * Dh (height of counterscrew head): 3 mm The bolts required should be approximately 5 mm longer than the original design, measuring between 25-30 mm with springs or 20 mm without. Both options have been tested and work effectively. New features introduced in version 5 include: * Snap-on connections for the cap: This feature failed testing. * A slide-on cap: This also failed testing. * An added brim to the inside-out core: This design has been removed as it is obsolete. Print Settings: See Skewb design notes.
