Autodesk is launching a major update to its SketchUp Pro platform with a brand new version called Autodesk 3D modeling and animation tool which offers advanced collaboration features as well as the ability for users to export DWG, RVT, IFC, EPRT, and SAT files. The platform has seen over 70 enhancements including support for import and display of Point Clouds from services such as Lidar360, along with a faster UI that loads projects three times quicker than the previous version. The new software provides even better performance compared to the original when importing DWG, SKP and OBJ files thanks to numerous UI changes aimed at streamlining user workflow which reduces overall computation time and boosts rendering output significantly. It's also introducing more detailed visual feedback on objects that allows users for much finer control of individual model elements when combined with their existing ability to change layer settings on individual items, a welcome addition especially among its target audience that is always on the lookout for efficiency savings whenever they possibly can get.
