[Sketchfab Challenge] Nightfall of the Serpent

My entry for the Sketchfab 3D Editor Challenge is a showcase of my skills in lighting, photography, and post-production. I must give credit to the model's author, as they created the incredible 3D models that bring this scene to life. To set the mood, I envisioned the scene as a dramatic night, with darkness punctuated only by strategic use of directional lights. This approach creates striking contrast and helps draw attention to specific areas of the composition. To avoid overly dark shadows, I added a subtle ambient light, allowing just enough illumination to prevent complete darkness. Color plays a significant role in adding depth and visual interest to the scene. By employing different hues and intensities for each light source, I aimed to create a sense of dimensionality among the characters – humans, beasts, and gods alike. In post-production, I applied a range of effects to enhance the overall aesthetic. These include color correction, tone-mapping, depth of field (DoF), bloom, minimal chromatic aberration, subtle grain, and screen space ambient occlusion (SSAO). However, I deliberately chose not to use screen space reflections, as they would have added unnecessary complexity without significantly impacting the scene's visual appeal.
