Skerryvore Lighthouse - simple version Low-poly 3D model
cgtrader
Skerryvore Lighthouse (Scotland) was designed and constructed by Alan Stevenson between 1838 and 1844, and interiors finished off by his brother Thomas. The lighthouse, a towering granite tower shaped like a hyperbolic curve, sits atop a remote reef twelve miles off Scotland's west coast, close to the Isle of Tiree; standing sixty feet high and built upon a base that measures approximately fourteen meters in diameter, it's the tallest lighthouse in Scotland. Operational continuously since 1844, it fell into darkness with a fire occurring in 1954. After a five-year layoff, the Skerryvore was reactivated and put back online starting in 1994 following its automation. The drawing currently being showcased is a precise, low-poly reproduction of the Lighthouse as well as the surrounding rocks at Skerryvore. Sea details are confined to just the rocky area but its mesh is separated from the rest of the lighthouse; this separation makes it easier to swap in new sea environments or different weather conditions. On offer on this site are two different versions of this Lighthouse drawing - a simple one and a full, detailed model. The present view is the Simple version, differing from the Full by lacking details in the tower's interior and Lantern components. Indeed, the Simple version has stairs that lead nowhere inside, lacks rooms, and replaces the complex lense machinery with an elementary lantern module containing nothing of significance; these key features make it easy for a viewer to comprehend at first glance. In contrast, the more elaborate Full version is replete with animations of every component and possesses all essential details. In fact, one major feature missing from the Simple rendition, that of a completely operational, high-quality Fresnel lens, similar to those marketed on this site under 'Fresnel Lens for Lighthouse', will also not be seen here. Rotating lantern functionality is however common across both simple models with basic sea animations visible in every instance. Important to note - embedded files inside each model zip have a respective file dimension, listed as: - BronzeCopper0009_M.jpg at 502KB. - DoorsSingleRusted0045_M-fb.jpg totaling at 123KB. - DSC_0300-02 weighing in at 231 KB per entry. - fb_asphalt05-rpt reaching sizes up to 122 kb. fb_granite_textures0069rpt registers the file dimensions as 259kb each; similar for all additional zip items which reach from 225-1657kb, but these should only include GraniteText0025-M.jpg (221kbs) and last of the entries being fb_rptrope black.jpg with size measured at 25kb.
