skate tool holder - meepo
thingiverse
I'm designing a skate tool holder that's perfect for the Meepo tool, but it should also fit other tools without any issues. I've created this design with the assumption that it will work well with various materials, but I want to warn you that PLA or stiff/brittle materials might not be the best choice due to the flexible clips required. They need to bend a bit, and PLA might just snap under the pressure. If you still want to try printing with PLA, I recommend creating a set of spare clips first and testing them on the tool before committing to a full print run. This will save you time and plastic if it doesn't work out as planned. Keep in mind that if you plan to mount this holder under your board, like I did, you're taking a risk. If the tool comes loose and ends up in the back wheels, it could lead to a serious accident. To ensure security, I've added 3M vehicle trim mounting tape for attachment and a velcro safety strap loop. The original design was a single piece, but it resulted in weak spring clips with short service lives due to horizontal layering. So, I split the design into two separate pieces, allowing for vertical layering that improves their strength and durability. Don't forget that the clips are different heights! Make sure to place the larger clip with a squared-off base at the top and the smaller one without it at the bottom. Simply glue or acetone weld them in place, and you're good to go. If you do manage to break or snap a clip, don't worry – I've included the .stl file for just the clips, so you can print new ones without having to redo the whole holder.
