A skate spinner is an off-ice training device used by figure skaters to practice their spins. It features a flat platform with a curved rocker below for balancing while spinning. To use it, simply place on the floor and step onto the platform, maintaining balance as you spin. Skate spinners are typically around 1000mm in size but can be cut into smaller pieces for easier assembly. The device is fully parametric, allowing users to adjust dimensions according to material stiffness. To estimate required dimensions, use the formula k < 1/R, where R represents rocker radius and k denotes bending curvature. Be mindful of the spinner's stiffness and avoid breaking the material by keeping stress below the tensile strength of ABS. If needed, divide the spinner into smaller pieces that can be solvent-welded together using a solution of ABS and acetone or butanone for strong bonds.
