Skate Hollow Gauge

Skate Hollow Gauge

Skates can be sharpened to different radii based on the skater's ability, weight, ice type, etc. This is called the “hollow”.I wanted to be able to measure the hollow on my skates because:I don't get them sharpened enough, and I forget what I have them set to.I have had them sharpened to the wrong radius, and I want to know when that happensThis gauge is just a chunk of plastic that has several common (North American) radii on the perimeter. Print it in something dark, and you can align different edges to your skate hollow and one of them will have no light peeking through. A skate sharpening shop should probably have one of these, because I hear people who don't know their radius all the time. I have been handing them out to the shops I frequent. If someone from the world without imperial units wants to tell me what the common radii are for skates in metric, I will make a model for those too.
