I am working on a take about Hobby Kings SK450 frames right now. We acquired two plug and fly Turnigy SK450 quads during their massive sale, which turned out to be a good move at the price point they were offering. We bought them since the total cost of electronics came with it would be lower than purchasing individual parts from the manufacturer. While stuck at home due to illness I had time to work on my new quad and do some tinkering. I took some opportunity to get some settings dialed in before testing could continue.\nAs I spent time figuring out how things worked, a few ideas came to me while working on the setup. After gathering calipers and hex keys, I got to mapping out essential hole locations for further work later on. Now I have several different options available. I've come up with a couple variations of bottom frames - standard and extended models, as well as multiple choices for top frame/flight controller mounting. This will be achieved by utilizing vertical or slanted damping designs in either vertical style (supporting gimbal dampers and earplugs alike) or the slanted style with an angle of 45 degrees meant to pair well with earplug dampers. Anyone who wants to use CAD/CAM tools may utilize this design file to create a set using laser cut or CNC machining - it's been converted into inches as such for ease.\nAlthough still quite early in the process and far from final, I welcome feedback at this point before any further developments take place, remember this is entirely in prototype phase after all so think about that beforehand. Add-ons are certainly on my list of to-dos in the future - currently a planned feature will be a retractable landing gear system perfect for ap mode.\nTo those involved at Hobby King and Turnigy I would like to extend sincere thanks for sparking something special within me by providing an incredibly affordable turnkey product like this quad.
