SK-Tank Y-Axis Sensor Mount
thingiverse
Here is an updated mount for the SK-Tank Y-axis end stop sensor. The issues that I had with the original (beta) version are: 1) it was mounted too far towards the rear of the machine and resulted in reduced print volume, 2) the mount and interrupter flag were mounted to the machine with just one screw each, making them easy to be misaligned when bumped. This new design has two parts: 1) a frame mount that bolts to two available holes on the left frame pillar and 2) a sensor holder that mounts to a track in the frame mount. This design is adjustable so you can have the nozzle get as close to the front edge of the build plate as you dare. I was able to get an additional 12mm of Y-axis build space with this design. The mount positions the sensor such that the left joiner housing provides the light interruption when homed. (Like the stock X-axis sensor) So, no light interrupter flag is needed with this design. The overall mount is secured to the frame with two screws resulting in a solid installation worthy of the term "Tank" :-) Printing: I printed these parts in PETG but PLA or ABS should work fine. Print in the orientation shown in Thingiverse, use support "touching bed" for the sensor holder part. Installation: Install the frame mount using left-over 5mm screws/nuts in the two available holes just above the left Z-belt pulley. Use 3mm screws/nuts to secure the sensor to the sensor holder and to secure the sensor holder to the frame mount. The arrows on the parts need to point upwards when installed. Reroute sensor cable from the controller on the back panel over to the new sensor location. Don't forget to diddle the y-axis dimension in your configuration file to make use of the additional build volume.
