SJP Quick Change Spool to hold 5 lb filament
thingiverse
To avoid tangles, wrap your filament roll from the inside out. In V1.1, spring holds may be insufficient to keep the arm closed; improve it by modifying the arm releases and adding a hole for filament placement in both 3mm and 1.75mm spools. Tilt the tips of arms towards the inside for better unraveling and add more spokes in the hub for a circular filament path. The design is based on murat's 1 lb model with a collapsible arm for easy reloading. Watch this video (http://youtu.be/oknv5050ghE) to see the V1.0 printing hub. A fresh 5 lb spool can be mounted using an SJP 2-piece spool holder and 8mm rod, as shown in the picture. Don't forget to calibrate your bridging settings before printing. You will need 6x 22mm-25mm m3 nuts and bolts, 3x extension springs or rubber bands, and 2x 608 bearings for assembly.
