SJ1000 in-car camera polarising filter attachment
thingiverse
This work-in-progress prototype has been designed to snap onto an SJ1000 dashcam and securely hold a 49mm polarizing filter, significantly reducing reflections recorded through its 'cradle'-style clip attachment. While you may not need the same filter size I'm using, it's the only one on hand. I've included the SketchUp file, so feel free to modify it according to your specific requirements and customize the filter size for optimal compatibility with your chosen filter. The details of each update are as follows: Version 1.0 showcases the initial prototype captured in the accompanying photographs. Version 1.2 features several enhancements: - Reinforced weak areas to increase structural integrity - Refining details to ensure a smoother finish - Added side arms for increased stability and better camera positioning - Lengthened clip arms for a secure fit Version 1.35 brings significant improvements: - The entire model has been thoroughly reworked for enhanced performance - Arm clips have been integrated for even greater durability - STL files are now ready to print with ease Moving on to Version 1.38, the model shows better overall compatibility with the camera: For optimal results and improved printability, print in PLA at 100% infill, with a heated bed. Printing in a darker color than shown in these photographs is highly recommended due to my availability only having 'natural' filament left on hand.
