Six Iberian Lynxes puzzle by Logan Kleinwaks
thingiverse
This year, Puzzle Will Be Played featured a new puzzle, the Six Iberian Lynxes. By following a sequence of nine steps, six identical pieces can form the classic burr puzzle shape. Initially, it seemed non-printable; however, rotating the pieces vertically solves that issue. The design is copyrighted by Logan Kleinwaks, so only non-commercial copies are allowed. If you're up for a challenge, consider Lynxes of Spain and Lynxes of Portugal, also designed by Kleinwacks and printable as well. An update on March 21st provides instructions on how to print the puzzles: Six Iberian Lynxes requires six copies of Lynx_8_04_01_S1, while Lynxes of Spain needs four copies of Lynx_8_04_01_S1, one copy each of S2 and S3. Two solution videos are also available: one for Six Iberian Lynxes (https://youtu.be/u1zDb55cexo) and another for Lynxes of Spain (https://youtu.be/wtZ93uLzlDI). The digital model was made in Burr Tools with an STL file exported at 8mm cube size, 0.4mm bevel size, and 0.1mm tolerance. It was printed six times on a Mendel90 printer using ABS, 0.2mm layer height, 0.49mm extrusion width, 30% hexagonal fill, two perimeters, four solid layers top and bottom, and a speed of 30 mm/s.
