Six Button Gamepad
thingiverse
This 6 button gamepad is part of a modular portable gaming device project that encourages people to quickly prototype and personalize their own handhelds or gamepads. All the files are licensed under the public domain, so you're free to modify them and sell or use them as references for your own builds. Specifically, the button layout and number of buttons can be different. If you create multiple button boxes with various layouts and then wire each box's tact switches with a quick connector and wire a matching female/male quick connector to your gpio pins or a microcontroller like a teensy, you should be able to quickly swap out different boxes with different button layouts on the fly. If you're playing a fighting game, pop in a 6 button layout. If you're playing a simple platformer like Mario brothers, pop in a two or four button layout. Included is the Fusion 360 project file which includes all the sketches and different faceplate button layouts. This version uses Adafruit's soft tactile switches: https://www.adafruit.com/product/3101 I used M2 8mm screws. Fusion 360 Project File: http://a360.co/2gJJUNu
