Six Blade Propeller for Toy Submarine
thingiverse
Our homemade wooden toy submarine features a propeller that is designed for printability and looks, rather than technical accuracy. With a diameter of approximately 2.4 inches and a bore of around 1/16 inch, this propeller has been created to overcome the issues of delicate or overhanging props commonly found in similar designs. The propeller was printed at a layer height of 0.1mm with two perimeters and 10% infill. However, it is crucial to control "ooze" during printing to minimize cleanup requirements afterward, which may involve scraping and sanding. Additionally, scaling the design up tends to yield better results than downsizing, as the blades can become more delicate than intended (around 0.040 inches thick) in smaller sizes.
