Sitting Woman at The Louvre, Paris
myminifactory
This young woman sits cross-legged on a stool, her cloak draped elegantly over her breast. This style of dressing was all the rage at the end of the 4th Century BC. Her right arm is drawn back around her face while her left rests comfortably on her seat. Pieces from this sculpture can be found scattered around it in the museum, indicating that the original would have been placed beside a funerary monument or small temple. This object is part of "Scan The World," a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory. This project aims to create a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe for public access at no cost. "Scan The World" is an open-source community effort, and if you have interesting items nearby that you'd like to contribute, email stw@myminifactory.com to learn how you can help.
