Site de Mambré - Palestine

The Chene de Mambre site, Haram Ramet al-khalil, is situated north of the city of Hebron in Palestine and according to biblical tradition, Mambre would be the place where Abraham communicated with God. The site was cleared in 1926 by A.E. Mader and then by I. Magen in 1984. Since 2016, an archaeological mission composed of French and Palestinian researchers has been studying the site under the direction of Vincent Michel, a professor at the University of Poitiers.
