They are also used for jib sheets on small sailboats, providing a reliable connection. Each clip resembles a link of chain, featuring a split through one side. The edges of this split are carefully chamfered, allowing the clips to engage or disengage only when properly aligned by hand. When pulled tight, the links are securely fastened, while still allowing for a quick release if needed. There are no moving parts to the link, ensuring a smooth and secure connection. Personally, I use a pair of sister clips for attaching and releasing the outhaul retraction bungee on my Laser sailboat with ease. For this purpose, print a pair of two scaled down versions (80% of the small clip) from the file "Sister_clips_small.stl". The clip is surprisingly strong, but it's essential to remember that it's made of plastic. As such, avoid using it for safety equipment or in situations where the clip snapping may put someone at risk. DO NOT USE FOR SAFETY EQUIPMENT OR WHERE THE CLIP SNAPPING MAY PUT SOMEONE AT RISK
