In ancient Russian lore and legend, the mythical creature known as the Sirin takes flight, its form a mesmerizing blend of avian and human features. With a head said to resemble that of a young girl, the Sirin is often seen as a Slavic interpretation of the Greek sirens. Typically depicted alongside another bird of paradise, Alkonost, the Sirin's countenance stands out, its face sometimes exposed, surrounded by an ethereal halo. According to folk tradition, on Apple Spas morning, the Sirin takes to the skies, its mournful cries echoing through the apple orchard as it weeps for all that is lost.
