In November 2007, St.Pancras International Station in London reopened after a major overhaul worth millions of pounds, marking its new role as the terminal for the Eurostar route linking Paris and Brussels. On the platform stands an oversized statue of poet John Betjeman, crafted by Martin Jennings. As a champion of saving this site from demolition plans in the 1960s, Betjeman's legacy is celebrated through this sculpture, a testament to his influence on London and Continental Railways' redevelopment of the station.
