Sir Daniel Fortesque (version 1.0)
thingiverse
In life, Daniel Fortesque was nothing more than the pampered son of a wealthy nobleman who craved to rise through the ranks of knighthood but lacked the motivation to put in any effort into his training despite the fact that his teachers saw great potential within him. Nonetheless, with his father's influence, he slowly climbed up the ranks and when the King's champion fell to an embarrassing death, the King of Gallowmere was taken in by Daniel's charm and boasts, and chose him as the hero needed to inspire the people and give them hope, which is when dark forces arrived. Zarok, the King's own Magician, had raised an army of undead warriors to ensnare the kingdom, and Daniel quickly led the king's army ready to prove his worth and become the hero he also wanted to be. Unfortunately, he never got the chance, as he was brought down by the first arrow of war, right in the eye. Mortally wounded, the King erected a large tomb for Daniel honoring him as the Hero of Gallowmere, to inspire his armies to push back Zarok's hordes and banish the dark wizard from the kingdom. The truth of Sir Daniel Fortesque's death was lost to history and his name went down in legend, that is until Zarok returned to take vengeance on the kingdom, creating a new army of undead warriors and stealing the souls of the people to fuel his dark plans. But the same dark magic has brought Sir Daniel back to life as well, and now he has a chance to live up to the legend he has become. Back when I was working on the Sea of Thieves Skulls, a few people commented on how much the skulls reminded them of medieval designs, so once I had gotten some time to work on new stuff, I wanted to make a point of creating a bust of Sir Daniel Fortesque and with the release of the 2019 remake, I thought it would be a good time to share it. I am still working on the teeth as they vary a little between the original and the remake, and they are still problematic when it comes to printing. Here are a few tips to remedy this: Slow down the printing speed of the first 40 to 30 layers to ensure that the teeth are properly sticking to the heat bed. If the teeth are messed up, you can fix them after the print is finished by either using a 3D printing pen or by using plastic sculpting. More updates and pictures coming soon.
