Sinner Spirit recumbent (ligfiets) chain tube holder

thingiverse

My wife's Sinner Spirit recumbent bike worked incredibly well, but there was one major issue. By shortening the boom to match her leg length and installing a larger chainring, the chain line became severely misaligned, with the chaintube itself causing the chain direction to change. This resulted in a considerable amount of noise and drag as the chain ran through the chaintubes. This 3D printed part enables the chain tube to run closer to the mounting bolt than is possible with the standard metal part, and it allows for adjustment so that the chain line can be perfectly straight. The result is significantly quieter and more efficient bike performance. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: MendelMax 1.5 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3 mm Infill: 20% Notes: The part was printed in PLA, and it works best when the surface with the large cutout (for the chaintube) is flat across the bed. Depending on your printer's capabilities, you may need to rework the small cutout (for the bolt) with a file after printing.
