A stream disappears into a cavernous sinkhole, its tranquil flow abruptly terminated as it plunges out of sight. Surrounding trees and underbrush have been digitally erased, leaving behind an eerie model with vacant spaces. However, the overall shape of the sinkhole, fissures, and rounded vertical shaft are accurately preserved in this 3D representation. The data was collected on July 22, 2016, by Les Hasbargen during a geology excursion led by the New York Earth Science Teachers Association.
