Sink to Hose Adapter (moen bathroom sink)
prusaprinters

I needed an adapter to clean my fish tank (I have one of those python attachments). But we just got a new moen bathroom faucet and it didn't fit.

The threads on the moen seemed to be about 21mm wide and 1.5mm pitch. The hose part is about 24.5mm wide and has a 1"/27 or 0.94mm pitch.

I printed it in this orientation. The sink is a tight fit if you use the o ring from the aerator. The hose isn't a very tight fit, and some teflon tape would probably help there. I didn't bother with it, because the leaks were small (but high pressure). I just wrapped a towel around the faucet for the 15 minutes I was cleaning the fish tank.

A word of warning though. The threads are pretty strong, but I am sure that if you put your full hand power or use a wrench to tighten it down, you can break it. You don't want to end up with broken plastic threads in your sink. It is also very easy to cross thread.

Here's another tip though. You can also split this model up just above the hose threads and then scale X and Y a little on each half independently without hassling with a CAD program.

Let me know if you make this, and how well it worked.

Print instructions

I printed with 6 perimeters top/bottom. 3 horizontal perimeters. No support and 30% infill. Make sure you are printing hot enough to get good adhesion. It doesn't help to add supports, the overhangs are pretty tame and the threads would be ruined.
