Sink Plunger Cap (3/4in, fine thread)
thingiverse
I recently acquired a pre-owned sink, which I installed without incident. Unfortunately, however, the cap that covers the control lever was nowhere to be found. To make matters worse, the original hardware was not identical, as one would have hoped. Since the home improvement store doesn't sell this component separately, customers are essentially being forced to buy an entire new drain system at a hefty price tag of $40! It's completely absurd to expect people to shell out such an excessive amount when installing used fixtures. I mean, if I had that kind of disposable income just burning a hole in my pocket, I wouldn't even bother with second-hand installations. Although the part doesn't fit perfectly without some tweaking, applying gentle heat from a gun and a bit of manual force should be sufficient to secure it into place adequately. Additionally, an alternative model is available on the market for those who prefer to forego the mechanism altogether, featuring a version with no holes at all.
