Sink Basket Strainer

It's astonishing how difficult it is to find a reliable sink strainer. I was searching for something that perfectly fits into the drain hole (without overlapping at the top), has a very fine mesh to prevent items like corn silk from washing through, and doesn't have a knob in the middle that gets in the way or an annoying attempt at a stopper at the bottom. The key to printing this strainer is utilizing your slicer's infill pattern to create the mesh. Print with three or four perimeter lines and zero solid top and bottom layers. Then adjust the infill density and pattern to achieve the desired mesh. For mine, I used a 45% triangular infill pattern. The mesh prints up with nice, thin single line walls, and it also prints very quickly. It is designed to fit a US standard kitchen sink drain (3.25" dia). Print Settings Printer: UDIO Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 45% (vary as desired) Notes: Print this with 3 or 4 perimeter lines and zero top and bottom layers. Choose the infill pattern and density to get your preferred type of mesh.
