This is a custom-made tool engineered specifically for removing and installing large retainer rings on sink baskets. The design fits KEENEY Manufacturing Part # K5414, which can be purchased at LOWES stores nationwide. Unlike traditional hex nuts, this tool features six precision-cut notches that provide a secure grip. As someone who's not a licensed plumber, I'm not sure if this is a universally applicable design or not. That being said, I've had great success using it to install new strainer baskets in tight spaces. In fact, my RV's bathroom sink has two of these baskets, which are nestled in a small compartment that makes it nearly impossible to access the retainer nuts with regular tools. If you plan on using this tool to remove old retainer rings, I recommend opting for a stronger material and a more dense infill to ensure maximum effectiveness.
