Single Use Model Rocket -- Mark II

Single Use Model Rocket -- Mark II

thingiverse

The revised Single Use Model Rocket design boasts a longer, solid nose to advance the center of gravity and slightly extended fins for a rearward pull on the center of pressure. This version prints as one complete piece. Infill should be set at 100% (important for increased nose weight) with printing speed at 40mm/sec, shells at 3, and layer height at 0.27mm. Print time is approximately 1 hour and 49 minutes, with an empty weight of 23g and a loaded weight (with engine) of 48g. The shifted center of gravity should result in improved aerodynamics compared to version one. This rocket is designed to accommodate an Estes 'C' standard-sized model rocket engine; for an 'A' sized mini engine, refer to the adapted design on Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:88520).
