Single string capo (Fretlocks)
thingiverse
I'm using a single-string capo on my five-string bass with a .130 gauge string, inspired by the Fretlocks system at fretlocks.com. I place it on the 3rd fret to simulate a D string instead of a B string. To keep it in place, I apply biadhesive and always remove it after playing to avoid damage from tape glue to my fretboard. If you need a capo for different string gauges, ask me or edit my Tinkercad project at https://www.tinkercad.com/things/aHxEPFeuCDW-5th-string-bass-fret. To calculate block distances, use the Pythagorean theorem, remembering that string gauge is diameter in inches (.130 inches equals 3.302 millimeters). The diagonal distance between blocks must match this value to fit the string properly.
