The final stages of my Lack enclosure demanded a custom deck-mounted spool holder that could withstand removal or fitting of the cover without sliding off. To ensure a secure fit, I opted for a single-sided mount with a quick-thread nut and bolt, a standard design. The holder itself is over-engineered but durable enough to prevent snapping or bending, considering I only make one or two of these at a time. It utilizes the standard Anet spool holder shaft and original kit nuts and washers. A 35mm M8 threaded bar is screwed into the mount's threaded hole for approximately 40mm deep, then secured with a lock nut and washer to prevent unscrewing. The spool bolt is slid onto the threaded bar and locked in place using either a nyloc nut or two supplied nuts combined.
