Single sheet toilet paper dispenser (wall mounted, lockable)
thingiverse
WORK IN PROGRESS, I'M CURRENTLY PRINTING AND TEST PARTS BEFORE FINAL RELEASE! What's that? Need to keep paper rolls safe from theft at work? Want to teach kids not to waste toilet paper? This dispenser is exactly what you need! Screwed onto a wall, it dispenses sheets one at a time. To get the next sheet, simply pull on the one sticking out, and it will detach from the one behind it, ready for use. It can hold rolls up to 130mm (~5") in diameter (yes, that's a big roll!). You can also key lock it using a $5 lock! Watch my first test video here: https://youtube.com/watch?v=_gr0_AasUOg Sorry about the poor quality and mess – I'm filming with an old smartphone and cleaning up my workspace. It doesn't always dispense a single sheet at first, but other than that, it works perfectly! You'll need: * 2x [M3 40mm screws or bolts](https://www.aliexpress.com/item/20pcs-Mushroom-head-with-hexagonal-screws-10-9-series-M3-6-8-40MM/32791678667.html) (works with longer ones up to 60mm) * 2x [M6 screws or bolts](https://www.aliexpress.com/item/8-8-Hexagon-Socket-Screw-Model-Self-Tapping-Screw-Speaker-Speaker-M6-16-18-20-25/32825214589.html) (choose the length based on how far you want them to go into the wall, knowing they'll be 4mm into the dispenser) * 1x [20mm door lock](https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Drawer-Tubular-Cam-Lock-For-Door-Mailbox-Cabinet-Cupboard-w-2-Keys-20mm-Locks-R06-Drop/32838646931.html) (optional, for key locking the housing) How to assemble it? Easy as ABC! Print the **base**, a **lid** (choose with or without a hole for the key locker), the **lock plate** if you want to key lock it, and the **hole** that fits your paper best. Depending on the thickness and strength of your paper, you may need different holes. * First, insert the hole into the base from the inside; it should fit perfectly. * Optional: If your roll is smaller than the dispenser's diameter and can move around in it, consider using an adapter to keep it centered. Measure the roll's diameter, choose an adapter accordingly (80mm to 120mm), print it, and insert it into the dispenser. * If you chose key locking, insert the lock plate at the top of the base; you can glue it, but it's okay if it moves a bit – the stud will hold it in place. * If you chose key locking, install the door lock into the lid, being careful with its orientation. * Position the lid on top of the base and secure it with M3 screws on each side of the hinge. * Finally, take a toilet paper roll, remove its cardboard core, insert the first sheet from the center into the hole (you can remove the hole from the base if that's easier), and put everything back into the dispenser. You're done! Close the lid, lock it if you want, and test it! If needed, print a smaller or bigger hole and swap it out. How to hang it on the wall? You'll need to screw M4 screws into the wall vertically, 75mm apart, leaving them loose by about 5mm. Insert the dispenser through the big holes, slide it down, and secure it with one or both of the screws.
