Single Print Padlock

Single Print Padlock

thingiverse

My goal was to design a lock that keeps small children safely out while still providing easy access for others. This is an initial draft (currently in its 4th iteration, titled "Padlock 4," as of February 18, 2018). Any ideas or suggestions are welcome and will be greatly appreciated. Padlock 3: The shackle on this version is 15mm taller than Padlock 2, with a significantly reduced number of supports required. (Please see print settings for details.) The slot at the bottom for turning the lock has been modified to a hex shape, accompanied by two strategically placed holes that help distribute the force needed to break it free. If necessary, I will create a key for this version. An additional hole has been added to the side of the lock to facilitate removal of supports (although it's possible this might not be necessary). Padlock 4: To further improve accessibility, more supports have been eliminated to simplify breaking the lock free. Some unnecessary side ports were removed to streamline the design. This version boasts a larger keyhole for easier access.
