Single piece dehydrator sleeve for small bed printers
thingiverse
Ok, this is something I came up with last night and I think it's actually going to work, which is amazing. I just got a cheap food dehydrator from amazon to dry my filament and it just barely holds two rolls. Anyway, like everyone else with these I wanted to find a way to add more room to it. So Thingaverse searching I went, and there are quite a few options on here, but they're all multi part prints that I'm not even sure will fit on my printer. I have a Prusa Mini +, so my bed is small. So, I thought, why not print a wall in a spiral and unwind it and connect the ends to make a larger than my bed cylinder? I'm putting up my first print to see what people think, it's going to need some refining to make it work really well, but even this one is going to be useful as it is. I made the mistake of printing in clear, this is my first print using clear filament, I'll give it a go with normal filament next and try to go higher with it. I have no idea how high I can expect to be able to print something this thin. The wall is only 1mm thick and I was able to print it 60mm high (pictures shown) with no skirt and it came out really well. With the printer settings I'm using the print is just basically drawing three lines for each layer so there's not a lot of side to side motions going on to mess up the print, other than the ends. The ends interlock and the connection is easy to put together and take back apart. Using my 7" x 7" bed I was able to easily print a 12.2 inch diameter cylinder 60 mm high. I'm printing with PETG. Let me know what you think and help with any ideas on how to improve!
