Single mouse trap

Single mouse trap

I came across a YouTube video called "Mousetrap Monday" and started printing Markus' design. I left it printing overnight, despite my distaste for long prints, and discovered in the morning that a jam had occurred just as it was finishing up - a problem with the spool. I decided to redesign the single trap to reduce printing time by half and minimize the risk of total loss. Here's the result: this is just the body. You can reuse the choker, arm, and bolt parts from Markus' original design. I want to thank Markus for optimizing the design and acknowledge the French designer who initially came up with the idea. While the trap was still printing, I thought it would be a good idea to add a small pocket to hold the bait. Check out the files section to see the "bait" keyword in the name. You can also watch a short video on the project here. I printed all the parts using a Volcano with a 0.6mm nozzle and PLA material. My settings were as follows: infill at 25%, no support, layer height of 0.4mm, extrusion width of 0.72mm, three layers for top and bottom, and three perimeter shells. I used some spare 1mm rope to create a knot that locks well in the slot.
