Single Extruder Easter Egg - 2017
thingiverse
This Easter Egg is designed to be printed with any 3D printer without needing multi extruders. Simply print each layer in a different color one at a time or print 6-7 full eggs in one color each, then mix and match to create colorful holiday decorations. Print Settings Printer: Tronxy Prusa i3 P802MA Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.15mm Infill: 10% Notes: To create a multi-color egg, you can either print each egg one layer at a time, switching filament colors between layers, or print a full egg in each color and then mix and match the layers. I printed 6 full eggs in each color and mixed up the layers to create the eggs shown. Post-Printing Assembly: Assembling this Easter Egg will require glue and small lengths of 1.75mm filament. I used cyanoacrylate (super glue) and leftover filament from spent rolls that were too short for printing. To assemble, attach the two top layers together (layers 5 and 6) with short pieces of filament. A little super glue is all you'll need; no soaking required. Next, assemble the bottom two layers in the same way (layers 0 and 1). Then, connect the middle three layers using slightly longer pieces of filament and glue. Be sure to dry fit these parts to ensure they're flush before gluing them together. Unfortunately, this Easter Egg is not as easy to assemble as I would have liked. Maybe a future design will be designed with snap-together parts so I won't glue my fingers together again.
