Single ended Vertical/Horizontal Filament Mount
thingiverse
I'm bursting with clutter in my room right now and desperately need something to hold my spools that can serve as either a mini pedestal or wall mount - no pressure there. I've decided to build a super-simple spool holder that doubles as a side wall attachment or freestanding unit. This humble creation could probably benefit from a little polishing since I designed the central hub to fit just snug enough for it not to budge without putting in too much elbow grease initially. In all seriousness, though, there is indeed an intended small tolerance, hence why sanding was part of the initial game plan. Moving right along - that circular central bit boasts a 5mm-sized hole which perfectly fits the M5 threaded rod you can insert for better balance or simply attach another object on top for some added support. Coming to the foundation portion now: as the spool holder gets mounted securely against your preferred choice of location (be it wall-based), you're in luck, because an ultra-long 15mm-lengthened bolt could easily screw its way inside that base for stability's sake - using good quality epoxy adhesive or even just a reliable dose of super glue might get the job done efficiently without calling for further assistance!
