THIS IS A WORKING MODEL OF A HORIZONTAL DOUBLE-ACTING SINGLE CYLINDER STEAM ENGINE, DESIGNED, PRINTED, TESTED, AND REFINED BY ME. THE GOAL OF THIS PROJECT WAS TO CREATE A FUNCTIONAL AND VISUALLY APPEALING MODEL STEAM ENGINE USING ALL PRINTABLE PARTS THAT COULD BE EASILY PRINTED WITH BASIC SLICER SETTINGS AND MINIMAL HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS. SINCE NO BEARINGS OR SEALS ARE USED, PARTS WILL NEED TO BE PARTIALLY DRILLED, SANDING, AND/OR FILED FOR PROPER FITTING, SUCH AS THE PISTON AND VALVE IN THE CYLINDER, THE CRANKSHAFT IN THE BASE, ETC. TO ASSEMBLE THIS ENGINE, YOU'LL NEED SEVEN (7) M3X16 CAP HEAD SCREWS, EIGHT (8) M3X12 CAP HEAD SCREWS, TWO (2) M2X12 CAP HEAD SCREWS, A SMALL FILE, MEDIUM GRIT SANDPAPER, AND A BASIC SET OF DRILL BITS. NO GLUE, GASKETS, OR BEARINGS ARE NEEDED, AS EVERYTHING CAN BE PRINTED WITH 10%-100% INFILL AND NO SUPPORTS IF PRINTED IN THE CORRECT ORIENTATION. ALL PARTS ARE PROPERLY ORIENTED FOR PRINTING. TWO INTAKE/EXHAUST PIPES ARE REQUIRED, TOTALING 17 PARTS.
