Single Cylinder Air Engine

Single Cylinder Air Engine

cults3d

Single Cylinder Air Engine runs on compressed air, a vacuum cleaner, a balloon, or even lung power with ease. Three adapters are included in the design to interface seamlessly with each option. The design features two ports, one upper and one lower, carefully crafted for optimal performance. When viewed from the port side, "Wheel Piston.stl" rotates clockwise when pressure is applied to the upper port, and counter-clockwise when a vacuum is applied to the upper port. As pressure or vacuum is applied to the upper port, the lower port functions as an exhaust (when pressure is applied) or an intake (when vacuum is applied). This clever design ensures smooth operation. Videos showcasing the prototype in action can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-ZsHjWmFu4, featuring balloon power, and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCS_2vPoIsQ, demonstrating slow-motion operation on a vacuum cleaner. A friction test is also available (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=043w3XoWwls), where the weight of the piston and piston rod effortlessly return the piston wheel, piston arm, piston rod, and piston to the base side pressure stroke. The design was created using Fusion 360, sliced with Cura 2.3.1, and printed in PLA on an Ultimaker 3 Extended for a high-quality finish.
