Single Central Magnet(SCM) Motor

Single Central Magnet(SCM) Motor

myminifactory

This electric motor works well as a direct drive extruder and for moving the axis Z. It's perfect for use in printers because of its light weight, just 84 grams, and high torque, making it a great replacement for heavy stepper motors. The motor is made up of several 3D printed parts and a magnet, bearings, shaft, and two coils. When you apply a voltage to the coil, the magnet inside the coil interacts with the conductor and starts rotating 90 degrees due to the angle between the coils. The rotor has a central magnet and shaft, while the stator consists of two coils at right angles to each other. Motor power is solely dependent on the current in the coils and the parameters of the magnet. The longer the magnet, the higher the traction characteristics it provides. This motor uses a neodymium magnet with specifications N38, 30mm height, and 10mm diameter. It can work with a 4mm shaft, but other shaft diameters are also possible. To operate this motor properly, you'll need to set up a feedback system along with the driver.
